Greetings in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ,
Caring for those in our community is everyone's responsibility. We are called to care for those in our midst who are struggling, sick, suffering, alone...to care for those who just need someone to listen or maybe carry a few things to the attic or basement and anything and everything in between.
Here at All Saints we do a pretty good job at caring for those in our midst but we want to be better do more. In response to this we have engaged in an 8 month program learning more about Pastoral Care and how we can provide it in better and more unique ways.
At our last meeting, graduates from our training program and other parishioners who feel called to this ministry gathered to discuss the way ahead. I am excited that we have begun a program of providing one on one attention and assistance for those in our midst who could use a visit, a sympathetic ear, a phone call or just a friendly conversation.
To be fully engaged in this ministry we need the assistance and attention of all parishioners. If you know of someone who you believe needs care and attention of any sort, I encourage you to let the clergy know so that we can get someone assigned to check in with them.
Also, if this program works and matures the way we hope it does we will need more people to be involved. If this seems like something you might want to do or have questions please let Fr. Gary or Deacons Anita & Martha know.
Blessings & Peace
See ya Sunday at Rankin Lake!
