Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ,
Over the past three weeks I have been in every part of our diocese and have listened to faithful Episcopalians from many different contexts and cultures during the many Holy Conversations I have facilitated around the diocese. Our diocese is quite rich in the many different people and places and priorities that we all share. There has been much in common and much that is different, and all the points are important and revealing. Views and opinions in Asheville vary greatly from those in Shelby and points west like Hayesville and Sylva.
However, the great joy in listening to our fellow Episcopalians dreams and desires of their hearts is that they love our Diocese, they love Jesus Christ, and they love and want only the best for their church; locally, diocesan, national and world.
This dedication and faithfulness to our Lord and the honoring of the past and the hope of the future brings a warmth to my heart and a smile to my face. It is my hope that this dreaming and visioning and hoping continues to be a thread throughout our common life here at All Saints and that we are bold enough to act!
See Ya Sunday!
