Christian Formation

All Saints offers formation classes for children ages three through ninety three–Whoever you are and wherever you are on your journey of faith, there is something for you at All Saints.

For our youngest: Godly Play:  The experiential “Way” of Godly Play creates a contemplative, “wondering” space for children to work with our liturgical rituals and sacred stories.  It is based on the Montessori educational way, and creates a safe space for children to nurture their innate sense of the sacred and the Divine. We have teams of loving, dedicated teachers who serve as the Storytellers for the Godly Play program.  For more information about Godly Play, please click to

For those in 5th grade and above:  We provide a comfortable and secure place for our maturing young people to discuss the weekly lectionary and talk with one another and share how the Gospel lesson for the week intersects their lives and how they deal with their faith on a daily basis.

Adult Christian Formation: Every Sunday morning we gather as a diverse community of adults who are struggling, doubting, inquiring, rejoicing, secure, and skeptical about their faith.  Sometimes we discover that we are all these things at the same time.  We watch videos about scripture, history, the Bible, faith, the Desert Fathers, the Gnostics and a wide range of other things.  Then we discuss them and share with one another how what we have just seen intersects our lives.  We grow as a community and support each other.

Family Events

A few times a year we host special events open to all families, whether a Game Night where we bring a covered dish, exchange and play our favorite board games, a Halloween gathering, an Advent celebration with gingerbread houses or Yule Logs, or a New Year’s Eve party.  One never knows what might happen here at All Saints.

This summer we have an exciting event scheduled.  We are planning a mission trip to Montgomery, AL on June 22nd through June 28, 2014.  We will be with middle school, high school, college students, and adults from other Episcopal churches in NC, AL, FL, & TX.  Please put this date on your calendar.

Our teachers and volunteers who work with youth have completed a training program, Safeguarding God’s Children, and comply with our Safe Church Policy.  If you have any questions or just want to know more about what happens at St. Luke’s for young people, please contact the church office at
