Our ministries are organized into six major areas: Worship/Music; Christian Education; Renewal Programs; Parishioner Outreach; Community Outreach; Fellowship/Newcomers. Each area has a vestry member who acts as a liaison, to make communication easier.

The leadership of our ministries changes regularly (every year or so), to involve more people and keep our outlook fresh.

* Altar Flowers

Donation of flower arrangements for the altar to be used during worship services, offering memoriam opportunity.

* Altar Guild

The Altar Guild prepares and oversees Holy Eucharist set up, replenishing supplies as needed. They also prepare church building for special holidays and events, i.e. “hanging of the greens.”

* Chalist/Layreader

Assist clergy at the altar during Holy Eucharist by administering the wine and reading the Word of God.

* Choir/Handbells

Leads congregation in worship music with singing and instruments during 10:30 Sunday morning services and for special occasions throughout the year. The Handbell Choir is composed of 10 ringers who play during worship service, for special holidays and feast celebrations.

* Sound System

Set up and operate the sound system for the worship services and celebrations.

* Usher/Greeter

This job requires two people working in unison to greet and distribute bulletins at the beginning of the worship services. They also deliver the sacraments to the altar, collect the offering and “clean/straighten” the sanctuary following the service.

This ministry provides an opportunity to teach Sunday morning adult Bible classes and offer Christian training within special workshops.

* Vacation Bible School

Provides Bible education through spiritual and hands on participative learning experiences during summer vacation.

* Nursery

Nursery attendants provide childcare to small children during the worship services.

* Youth Group

Provides Sunday morning church services to the residents of the Morningside Assisted Living Center in Gastonia.

* Towel Ministry

A communitywide ministry to provide home repairs to those who cannot afford it.

* Interfaith Hospitality Network

Provides shelter, meals, and support for area homeless. Clients use All Saints’ facilities on designated weeks throughout the year.

* Crisis Assistance

Provides emergency relief via referrals, food, and/or money in a crisis situation for those in the parish and in the community.
